Oyebanji Lauds Okpebholo Victory in Edo Governorship Election

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo as he emerged the winner of the recent Edo State governorship election.

Speaking via his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the Governor praised the people of Edo State for reposing confidence in APC and its Renewed Hope agenda.

Okpebholo’s had 291,667 votes against his closest opponent, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 247,274, marking a significant triumph.

Oyebanji acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to deepening democracy in Nigeria, noting that Okpebholo’s win reinforces confidence in the Tinubu administration.

INEC’s role in the electoral process also earned Oyebanji’s commendation.

He praised the people of Edo State for their decision, saying, “The Edo people have spoken clearly and loudly… Hearty congratulations to my brother, the Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa.”

“The victory is also a vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has deepened our democracy. It is victory of our party APC and indeed victory for democracy.

“It is a new day in Edo State and I congratulate the people of the state for returning the state to the progressives fold”, the Governor added.
