Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, yesterday, extended financial support to the families of deceased members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Ekiti State Chapter.
Recall that three RTEAN members lost their lives in an attack at a rally the association organised in support of the All Progressives Congress in Oye local government during the 2022 governorship election campaign.
The deceased; Gbenga Balogun, Ajayi Tope and Jimoh Omotuyi were members of RTEAN in the state and strong supporters of the APC.
In a statement by the Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho said no measure can quantify their contributions to the emergence of the Hovernor.
According to her; “Though no measure can quantify their invaluable contributions, it is imperative to ensure the well-being of the families they left behind.
“Governor Oyebanji remains committed to supporting these families as they navigate their entrepreneurial endeavours.”
Receiving the financial support, Mrs Balogun Bosede, Mrs Ajayi Ayodele and Mr Omotuyi Kehinde thanked Governor Oyebanji for not forgetting the families of the deceased while also appreciating the leadership of the RTEAN in Ekiti State for always reaching out to the families on behalf of Mr Governor.
