OYEBANJI, BISHOP AMFANI COMMEND RETIRED JUSTICE OMOLEYE, DESCRIBES HER AS BLESSING TO EKITI

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has described the first female Chief Judge of the state and retired Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Oyebisi Omoleye, as a blessing to Ekiti State, commending her for serving the country with honour and integrity.

Governor Oyebanji stated this at a thanksgiving service held in honour of Justice Omoleye at Emmanuel Cathedral, Okesha, Ado-Ekiti.

The Governor said Justice Omoleye’s career in the judiciary was marked by dedication and an unblemished record of service, noting that her contributions to the legal profession and the development of the judiciary would continue to be remembered.

He congratulated the retired jurist for reaching the milestone and thanked God for preserving her life and granting her the opportunity to celebrate the completion of a distinguished career in public service.

Earlier, the Archbishop of Jos Province and Bishop of Yola, the Most Reverend Marcus Amfani, had called on people in positions of authority to serve with integrity and leave behind positive legacies.

Archbishop Amfani, who commended Justice Omoleye’s contributions to the legal profession, described her as a trailblazer whose service had made a significant impact on the judiciary in Nigeria.

He urged leaders at all levels to prioritise the welfare of the people and conduct themselves in ways that would earn them respect and honour, stressing that a good name is more valuable than gold and silver.

The Archbishop also called on governments at all levels to prioritise the construction and rehabilitation of roads, stressing that good infrastructure is essential to the development of society.

In her response, Justice Omoleye expressed gratitude to God for His protection, guidance and grace throughout her years of service. She also appreciated family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries who attended the thanksgiving service.

Prayers were offered for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, as well as for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, seeking divine wisdom and guidance for them to lead the country and Ekiti State successfully.
