Orisun Egbewa Landlords laud Governor Oyebanji for fixing 30-yr-old abandoned residential road

Residents and landlords in the Orisun Egbewa area of Ado-Ekiti have commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, for commencing the reconstruction of a residential road that had been neglected for over three decades.

The road, located opposite Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School, connects the school junction to Spotless Junction and extends to the Assemblies of God Junction.

Speaking with journalists, the Chairman of the Orisun Egbewa Landlords Association, Olusola Alonge, said the community had struggled for years to maintain the road through self-help efforts until the government stepped in.

Alonge noted that the road had remained in a deplorable condition for more than 30 years since he moved into the area over three decades ago.

He added that the commencement of construction about two weeks ago came as a relief to residents, noting that the pace of work by the contractor had impressed many in the community.

Alonge described the governor as a prudent manager of the state’s resources and urged residents across the state to support his administration and vote en masse for his second term ambition in order to enjoy more developmental projects.

Like oliver twist, Alonge appealed to the Governor to erect street lights on the road when completed so that residents can enjoy maximum security.

“We appreciate the hardworking Governor of Ekiti State for remembering us on this road. I have lived here for more than 30 years and the road has always been bad. We had been patching and managing it ourselves.

“The massive work the contractor has done within such a short time is surprising. They have also promised that the project will be completed within the next six months,” he said.

Also speaking, another landlord in the area, Funke Adigun, stressed that many property owners on the street, including some living abroad, had expressed appreciation for the project, pledging to take the campaign abroad to ensure his re-election bid.

“The road has been horrible for a long time, but it is amazing that a few weeks ago the governor started the work. People can see the impact of governance through what he has done here.

“Most of the residents here have houses in this area even though some live in London. They have asked me to convey their gratitude to the governor for remembering this community,” she added.

The Youth President of Orisun Egbewa, Oloye Ayodele Adebayo, also praised the governor for the intervention and prayed for continued progress and prosperity for the state under his leadership.

He said the completion of the road would greatly improve mobility and the overall living condition of residents in the neighbourhood.

A resident, Adisatu Adigun equally expressed her profound appreciation to the Governor, urging him to continue the good works that would positively impact the lives of Ekiti people.
