ORIN HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI DONATE FURNITURE, SIGN POST TO ALMA MATER

It was an exciting moment at Orin High School, Orin Ekiti, Ido Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State as Alumni of the School donated furniture materials and a reflective sign post to their Alma Mater as part of activities marking the 45th anniversary of the school.

Award of excellence was also presented to the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Dr Mrs Olabimpe Aderiye who is also an indigene of Orin Ekiti for her outstanding contributions to the development of the school and the community.

Other awardees are the Incumbent school Principal, Mr Ogunlade, the Best Teacher in the school and the outstanding student in the last 2023 WAEC examination.

Speaking during the occasion, the National President of the Alumni, Evangelist Rotimi Ojo said the furniture materials were donated to assist academic activities and give the students a sense of belonging.

He appreciated all members of the Alumni association who have contributed to the project while advising the students and teachers to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.

In a remark, the Hon. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Mrs Olabimpe Aderiye ably represented by the Former Executive Secretary of Ekiti SUBEB, Mr. Babafemi Jegede, thanked the Alumni association for the recognition and appreciated them for giving back to the school.

Speaking on the newly commissioned Reflective signpost, a pioneer studen of the school, Engr, Ben Fatope, said the project was conceived and executed by the 1979- 1984 set of students who happened to be the Pioneer set to mark the beginning of more good things to come from the Alumni.

Other Pioneer members present at the event are, Engr. Dayo Dada, the Director of Works, FMC, Ido Ekiti, Elder Oluwatuyi Aroge, Director Primary Health Care and Health Secretary with Ekiti State Primary Health Care Department Agency, others include, Mrs Susan Oludakinni, nee Ilori, Mr. Femi Ajayi Samuel, Mrs, Funmilayo Alo, Mr. Makanjuola Michael Ms Kehinde Daramola, Mrs Olubunmi Ajayi nee Alasi, Ms Theresa nee Omonijo and Mr. Pius Daodu. They also congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The Chairmen, Fundraising Committee, Home and in the Diaspora, Comrade Akinola Bodunde and Dr. Kayode Ige, appreciate the zeal and enthusiasm showned by members in donating willingly and generously within a limited period of time just to make the project a reality.

According to them, “This milestone is not just a celebration of time, but a testament to the dedication, values, and commitment of everyone who has been part of the journey

“Over the years, our school has been a place where lifelong memories are made, knowledge is gained, and friendships are formed. It has nurtured and inspired countless individuals, instilling in us the virtues of hard work, integrity, and resilience” therefore appealed to the upcoming students to emulate the legacies.

Other dignitaries at the program are Permanent Secretaries,
Retired Executive Secretaries, Area Education Officers, Community Leaders, Alumni members, men and women in the academia and political landscape.
