Organized Labour denies rift with Ekiti Government

….clears air over meeting with HOS

The Organized Labour in Ekiti State has dissociated itself from a statement circulating on the social media regarding a meeting with the Head of Service.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairmen of NLC, TUC and JNC, Mr. Kolapo Olatunde, Mr. Sola Adigun and Mr. Femi Ajoloko

The labour leaders condemned the action of the purveyor of the fake news for trying to instigate workers against government.

It reads:”The attention of the Organized Labour in Ekiti State has been drawn to a malicious statement being circulated on social media by faceless individuals with the caption “The Outcome of the Meeting Between the Organised Labour and the HOS” wherein the labour leaders and Head of Service were blackmailed.

“We wish to state emphatically without mincing words that the statement was fake and did not originate from any of the Labour Unions, be it NLC, TUC and JNC.

“The said statement was cooked up by third columnists and evil minded souls who are bent on destroying the good relationship between government and Ekiti State workers, hence it should be totally disregarded.

Though the labour leaders agreed to have held a meeting with the Head of Service, they noted that the purveyor and peddlers of the fake news goofed about the subject of discussion.

“The meeting which was at the instance of both the Organized Labour and the Head of Service was to acknowledge the leadership qualities of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, particularly towards the workers and to strengthen the already existing relationship between the government and the labour leaders.

“At no time did the HOS and Labour leaders condemn the Governor, how can any Labour leaders oppose a gesture of such magnitude for its members? Only a foolish leader will do such.

“The comments ascribed to the HOS as regards the relationship with the Commissioner for Finance was the figment of imagination of the writer just to attract cheap sympathy and achieve their ulterior motives.

“The Organized Labour in Ekiti State is headed by responsible and responsive leaders who know their onions, there is no reason to create enmity withthe Government when there is no reason for one. These agents of destruction did not just start, they have always been around making attempts to throw clog in the wheel of progress and they will continue to fail.

The labour leaders warned those it described as evil masterminds to desist or face the wrath of God, while appealing to members of the public to disregard the statement.
