… inaugurates new executive members of Ado Ekiti Branch
Engineers have been advised to come up with low cost toilet designs that is affordable for average Nigerians.
Former Dean School of Engineers, Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Dr Segun Adeoti gave the advice while delivering a lecture on the “Role of Engineers in the Open Defecation Debate” at the investiture of Dr Olusegun Aluko as the the 16th chairman of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ado Ekiti Branch.
Dr Adeoti explained that since one of the major factors causing open defecation in the country was financial incapability of people to construct toilets, a low cost toilet design would allow people to build toilets in their respective houses.
In a remark, chairman on the occasion who is the president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Gidari wudil who spoke through professor Gbenga Aribisala from Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti
Promised to give priority to the welfare of members across the country and urged the newly executive members to justify the confidence reposed in them through selfless services.
In his address, the Immediate past chairman of the Society, Engineer kayode Afuye appreciated members for their support to achieve success and charged the new executive members to build on the success achieved.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Society of Engineers NSE, Ado Ekiti Branch, Dr Olusegun Aluko appealed to members be committed to the society activities and promised to showcase the society through lofty programmes.
