OJO AYODEJI RE-ELECTED EKITI NUAAE CHAIRMAN

…promises to build on previous achievements

Comrade Ayodeji Ojo has been re-elected as Chairman of Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees, NUAAE, Ekiti State Council for another four years.

Ayodeji, and other four executive members were elected during the 2nd Quadrennial State Delegates’ Conference of the union which held at NUAAE State Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti.

Those elected for a four-year tenure include; Ojo Ayodeji, Chairman; Fafure Fadekemi, Vice-Chairman; Ayodele Adedayo, Women Coordinator; Adu Taiwo, State Auditor and Awi Lucas; State Trustee.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Ayodeji thanked the delegates for electing him for another tenure while promising to deliver on the mandate given to him.

He stated that all aggrieved factions in the union would be reconciled towards ensuring a harmonious relationship for the progress of the union.

His words: “I thank the delegates for voting for me to emerge as the Chairman of NUAAE for another four years. I promise to deliver and protect their interests in Ekiti State.

“We are going to reconcile the other factions to ensure a lasting peace in the union in Ekiti State Council. We are going to ensure the harmonious relationship between the labour, government, the NLC and all Labour organs in Ekiti State.

“I appeal to all concerned people and aggrieved people to let us come together and build a veritable agric union in Ekiti State.”

Earlier, the State Controller of Labour, Grace Adeleye charged the delegates to elect leaders that will deliver on their expectations without compromising their rights and struggles.

She enjoined all warring factions to follow the statutory grievance resolution procedure in resolving crises and conflicts.

Her words: “The delegates conference happening today is a normal process of the trade unions. There is need for leaderships wherever there are groups of people. It is good for the administration of the union to have the kind of leadership that they wish to have.

“To complement our efforts, we employ your union organisation to always follow the statutory grievance resolution procedure in the resolution of conflicts.

“As you elect new executives to pilot the affairs of the state council for another session today, I implore you not to allow sentiments to becloud your sense of judgement. Feel free to cast your votes for those you are convinced will deliver on your expectations without compromising your rights and struggles.”

On his part, the National President of NUAAE, Obafemi Oyenubi, represented by the General Secretary, Chapi Enemaku charged the newly elected executives bring good tidings to their members and justify the confidence repose in them through robust representation.

“I am here to coordinate and supervise the 2nd Quadrennial State Delegates’ Conference which we have done successfully.

“The new leadership from the national to the state and branches believe in the rule of law and obeying the constitution. People who are now elected are purposeful and committed to bring good tidings to our members that cut across both the private and public sector.”

The event had in attendance delegates of the union drawn from the four branches including; State Ministry of Agriculture, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Fountain Marketing Agency and Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency.
