Official: Guinness World Records Confirms Hilda Holder of Longest Cooking Marathon

The Guinness World Records, GWR has announces that Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly called Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

The World Record Keeper made this known today in a statement obtained on its verified Twitter handle @GWR.

According to the Global Record Keeper the announcement came after a review of evidence.

The previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes was set by an India, Lata Tondo in 2019.

The Guinness World Records said, “After reviewing all the footage, we are delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual)”

“The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

“Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt,” according to GWR.
