NYSC: Ekiti Governor Charges Corps Members to Embrace Service, Innovation at 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Swearing-In Ceremony

The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has charged newly sworn-in corps members to approach their national assignment with creativity, courage, and a strong sense of unity and development.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs. Adeluyi Femi Olusola, the governor gave this charge at the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation course, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise-Orun/Emure-Ekiti.

Governor Oyebanji congratulated the 2,222 corps members deployed to Ekiti and those dislodged from Lagos, urging them to actively participate in all camp activities and take full advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme. He described the SAED initiative as a “gateway to innovation, employment creation, and long-term financial independence,” and reaffirmed his administration’s support for the NYSC scheme.

In his welcome address, the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, appreciated the state government’s support and assured corps members of a transformative experience during the orientation. He emphasized that the programme is aimed at building discipline, adaptability, and leadership. He also encouraged corps members to take the values of patriotism, tolerance, and service seriously throughout their stay.

The Oath of Allegiance was administered by Justice O.O. Olatuwura, who represented the Honourable Chief Judge of Ekiti State. He reminded the corps members to uphold the Constitution, remain law-abiding, and be agents of peace. The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, senior government officials, and representatives of security and partner agencies, marking a vibrant start to the service year.
