NYSC Camp Opens in Borno After 13 Years Shutdown

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Borno State, Orientation Camp in Maiduguri, has been reportedly declared opened after 13 years shutdown from all camping activities, owing to reports of insurgency in the State.

The report of the reopening was made known by the Nigerian Army, via its Official Twitter Account @HQNigerianArmy today.

As contained in the tweet, the Orientation Camp was officially opened on Tuesday 22nd, August 2023, following years of peace enjoyed in the State.

It reads, “The NYSC Orientation Camp has reopened in Maiduguri, Borno state on Tuesday 22, August 2023 after 13 years it was suspended due to the insurgency.

“The resumption of the Camp Orientation activity signifies that peace has returned to the State as gallant troops of OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to record successes in the ongoing Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism operations in the Northeastern States of Nigeria.”
