Nollywood Figures Mobilize Assistance for Veteran Actor Ogogo Following Family’s Urgent Medical Appeal

Prominent figures across the Nigerian film industry have banded together to support veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, widely recognized as Ogogo, after his daughters publicly requested immediate medical intervention for his stage-four cancer battle.

Film producer and actor Femi Adebayo took to his social media platform to request urgent guidance from the global healthcare community. Adebayo clarified that the actor’s family is not seeking financial aid, but rather requires immediate contact with oncology specialists, advanced treatment centers, and hospitals anywhere in the world capable of evaluating Hassan’s medical records and providing alternative care options. He urged the public to circulate the request widely to reach qualified medical professionals.

Adding her voice to the cause, actress Toyin Abraham reshared a video appeal from Hassan’s daughters, directing anyone with viable medical leads or connections to contact either her or the family directly.

The widespread outreach was prompted by emotional statements released by Hassan’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo. They revealed that their father’s health has declined significantly to the point where his current hospital can no longer administer chemotherapy, with multiple facilities declining further treatment. Both daughters reiterated that their sole priority is securing specialized medical expertise to give the veteran actor a fighting chance.

At 66 years old, Hassan stands as a celebrated figure in Nigerian cinema, boasting a career that spans over four decades and includes appearances in more than 300 films.
