..calls for better welfare for monarchs
The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ekiti State for the 2026 gubernatorial election, Hon. Blessing Abegunde has extended warm congratulations to the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, on the celebration of his 80th birthday.
In his congratulatory message, Abegunde described the Ewi as a father, mentor, and advisor, praising his contributions to the growth and development of Ado-Ekiti and Ekiti State.
Abegunde commended Ewi’s wisdom, humility, and commitment to peace and progress of Ekiti State.
He prayed God to grant the first class monarch good health to celebrate many more years on earth.

He noted that traditional rulers deserve better support and emphasized the need for a more structured and improved welfare system that reflects their importance in society.
