NMA Ekiti Begins 2024 Physicians’ Week With Thanksgiving Service

…rolls out activities for week-long celebration

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Ekiti State Branch on Sunday began its 2024 Physicians’ Week with thanksgiving service in the State.

The thanksgiving service, which is part of the week-long activities marking the 2024 Physicians’ Week held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bread of Life Parish in Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking with Journalists after the thanksgiving service, NMA Chairman in Ekiti State, Dr. Oreyemi Ifedayo explained that the thanksgiving service was necessitated to give thanks to God for his protection to members of the union in the State.

He seized the opportunity to reveal that the 2024 Physicians’ Week has been designated to celebrate and rejoice with one another after a year of hard work and service to the nation.

According to him, “We need to step back and take a stock of how to further improve the quality of our care, how to offer more quality services to our people and look out for our own health as well.

“We came to church to thank God for how he has protected us. During this week alone, we had accidents involving two of our members that could have caused their lives but we thank God both of them escaped. We even had a member that was kidnapped and was just released. We have every cause to give thanks to God.”

Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Olufemi Fabiyi, who took his text from Luke 2:8-10 preached on the topic: “Connecting with Shekina Glory.”

He said that Shekina is an Hebrew word that means dwelling adding that individuals need the visitation of the Shekina Glory.

He went further to identify what every individual will benefit from Shekina Glory to include; unspeakable joy, answered prayers, revelation of God’s mind, enemies are kept away, liberation is pronounced, violence disappears and victory is given.

Meanwhile, NMA Ekiti State Branch has mapped out activities to celebrate the week-long event including; fitness walk, opening ceremony, Ordinary General Meeting, Outreach to Old People’s Care Home, Jumat Service and Young Doctors Forum.
