Nigeria Lady Gets Appointment To Teach Igbo Abroad

Amarachi Attamah, a Nigerian lady, has proudly announced her appointment as an Igbo language lecturer at two prestigious US institutions, Harvard and Yale.

Taking to Facebook, Amarachi expressed her excitement, anticipating her teaching roles during the upcoming spring semester, of which at Harvard University she will contribute to the African Languages Program (ALP) within the Department of African and African American Studies.

The ALP at Harvard is globally recognized as one of the largest language programs, imparting knowledge in over 45 African languages.

In addition to her responsibilities at Harvard, Amarachi noted that she will also play a crucial role at Yale University as an Igbo language instructor in the Directed Independent Language Study (DILS) program, situated in the Yale Center for Language Study.

Sharing her joy on social media, Amarachi stated, “I am excited to share the beginning of another incredible journey. This spring, I will be the Igbo language instructor in the African Languages Program (ALP), in the Department of African and African American Studies, Harvard University.

The Harvard’s ALP is one of the largest language programs in the world having taught over 45 African languages.”

She continued, “This spring, I am also the Igbo instructor in the Directed Independent Language Study (DILS) program at the Yale Center for Language Study, Yale University. Igbo instructor at two Ivy Leagues. Mụ bụ Amarachi. Chai!”

Her accomplishment highlights the growing recognition of African languages in renowned educational institutions.
