The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Ekiti State has congratulated the workers in the state for witnessing the New Year, saying that the Union has been successful in its pursuits during the outgoing year, and hopes for robust welfare for the state workers in the New Year.
In a Statement in Ado Ekiti, the Congress Chairman, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde appreciated the workers and prayed for God to see them through the new year.
According to him, the support and cooperation of workers helped him to achieve remarkable success in the outgone year and seek for more of such to be able to score more points.
Comrade Olatunde who promised not to compromise the welfare of workers urged them to redouble efforts this year by supporting present administration to achieve success.
The Ekiti NLC Chairman therefore congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, SSA to the Governor on labour Matter, Comrade Kayode Fatomiluyi, and all SEC and SAC members of NLC for being alive to witness another year.
Comrade Olatunde noted that Governor Oyebanji had fulfiled some of his promises for workers by paying salary arrears, leave bonuses, wage award, payment of backlogged of gratuity, payment of Hazard allowances to heath workers but appealed to him to do more this year.
The NLC Chairman also reminded the Governor to ensure that all the needs of workers and that of subvented institutions are met this year.
