The Ekiti State Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Hon. Musa Arogundade, has dismissed reports of his resignation, describing the rumour as baseless and untrue.
Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, Arogundade said he remains the duly appointed chairman of the party in the state and has no reason to relinquish the position.
According to him, he was appointed during the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting in May 2026, and there has been no development warranting his resignation.
“There is no truth in the rumour making the rounds that I have resigned. I was appointed by the leaders and stakeholders of the party, and if I ever decide to resign, I will submit my resignation letter to the national body, not to individuals,” he said.
Arogundade acknowledged that disagreements are common in political parties, but insisted that there is no rift between him and the NDC leadership in Ekiti.
He appealed to party members to remain calm and united, stressing that the state executive is working together for the progress of the party.
The chairman also expressed confidence that the NDC presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will win the 2027 general election.
“By God’s grace, come 2027, our party will succeed. Our presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will emerge as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and we will also work to ensure victory for our candidates at the state level,” Arogundade stated.
