Nollywood producer, and actress, Funke Akindele has shared her perspective on setbacks, particularly her past marriages, emphasizing her belief that failures are integral to eventual success.
During an interview with Wazobia FM in Lagos, Akindele revealed that her mother instilled in her the understanding that failure is a crucial part of the journey towards achievement.
Akindele expressed her approach to marriage, stating that she takes it “as it comes” while prioritizing her mental health and career.
The actress underscored the significance of leading a purposeful life, aiming to inspire the younger generation and be a supportive presence for her children and siblings.
She articulated, “If you ask me now, can you tell me one failure, I don’t see it as a failure. My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes. My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling.”
Akindele continued by highlighting her determination to make a positive impact, empower others, and remain resilient for the sake of her family.
“I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up.” she said
Despite acknowledging moments of vulnerability, she asserted her commitment to overcoming challenges, saying, “Yes, I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say, ‘keep moving’.”
