Few weeks after the inauguration of the Ado-Ekiti Bus Terminal in Ekiti State, motorists and passengers have expressed mixed reactions over the structure, system and operation of the new park.
Though, the respondents acknowledged the importance of the park, some of them raised several observations which requires government’s attention.
In an interview, a motorist, Ayodele Olalaye Alaba, appreciated Governor Oyebanji for the completion of the project which he said it’s serving it’s purpose but called for proper maintenance.
Also, another driver, Adetoye Gbenga Fasua, lamented over the restriction on the old bus terminal, Tosin Aluko Park, saying that the new park is not big enough to convey all vehicles.
More so, another motorist, Ade Adeoye, appreciated the Government for the new structure, saying, “We are very happy with the State Government, we have no problem.”
However, regarding sales within the park, a trader, Godstime Obasuyi, revealed that selling is not permitted in the park, but traders still hang around, nevertheless, ROUNDOFFNEWS confirmed that, traders still trade within the Park Arena.

While speaking with one of the food Sellers, Adeyemike Mary, she commended Governor Oyebanji but lamented over the absence of a kiosk in the park. “We food sellers were promised a Kiosk, but we have not seen it,” She said.
Commenting on the cost of transportation in the new bus terminal, a commuter, Blessing Jonah, said, “The price of the bus is still the same irrespective of the terminal.The price is determined by the effect of fuel subsidy, not the terminal,” she added.
Also, ROUNDOFFNEWS confirmed that the old bus terminal is not functional; however, some motorists are still seen conveying passengers along the Old Garage Road, a few blocks from the old bus terminal.
All, efforts made to reach the Chairman of the Bus Terminal proved abortive.
