MONTHLY SANITATION: GOVERNMENT THREATENS TO PROSECUTE ENVIRONMENTAL OFFENDERS

The November Edition of the State Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise will hold on Saturday 26th November, 2022. between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am

According to The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Babatunde Alokan mobile courts shall be operational throughout the State to try Environmental and Sanitation law defaulters.

The theme of this month exercise is: EKITI STATE MUST BE CLEAN.

The PS charged the general public to clean their environment during the exercise, adding that there will be restrictions on both human and vehicular movements.

He also urged residents and shop owners to distill drainages in front of their buildings and dump their refuse properly.

The Permanent Secretary further admonishes all traders in the various markets to use the opportunity to clean their shops and stalls and to also ensure that all wastes generated are properly disposed off and not poured into the drainages.

According to him, the State and Local Government Environmental Health Officers and Security agencies will be on ground to monitor the exercise throughout the State.
