…warns intending couples against unhealthy courtship
The Celestial Women Council CWC, Ekiti Central Province, Ado Ekiti has organised a marriage seminar to sensitize members on various godly strategies to keep their families together and make it a point of good reference for others.
The programme which was held at the Celestial Church of Christ CCC, Orire Cathedral, Ado Ekiti was attended by women from different parishes under the province.
Speaking at the programme, a marriage counsellor , Mrs Alabi Folasade urged women to abide by the marriage vows, follow idealogy of both families, build a godly home, develop empathy, bury ego, shun selfishness, be committed, strive for excellence and set a goal, saying such would make their families an outstanding one.
Mrs Alabi explained that for marriage to be honoured and last longer, couples must put God first, cooperate with one another, engage in regular communication, be truthful and respect opinions of each other.
According to her, Healthy family will produce responsible children who will inturn make up a peaceful society, hence the need to build a family that will not be a burden to the society.
On courtship, Mrs Alabi condemned long courtship among intending couple, saying such could expose partners to sexual temptation.
In her welcome address, the Chairperson of Celestial Women Council CWC, Ekiti Central province, Ado Ekiti, MC, Dr Titilayo Ogunmola urged women to protect their families and desist from anything that could bring blemish to the marriage.
Dr Ogunmola urged the participants to make use of the knowledge gained during the seminar to build their families and correct any wrong belief about marriage.
Also, the Chairperson planning committee of the programme, MC Flosade Oke explained that the programme was put together to ensure that members played their roles effectively in their various home to prevent divorce and urged men to also love their wives.
In an interview, some of the participants commended Celestial Women Council Ekiti Central province for putting up the programme and promised to make use of the lesson learned during the lecture to build their homes to prevent kiosk and acrimony.
The seminar featured playlet by the children of the province on how to keep happy home.
