…As Morakinyo Akintayo Emerges Pioneer Chairman

The national leadership of the National Union of Market Traders Employers of Nigeria, NUMTEN, has inaugurated the pioneer executives of the Union in Ekiti State.
The inauguration ceremony of the State and Local Government Executives was conducted by the Minister of Labour and Employment and the National Executives of the Union in Ado-Ekiti on Friday.
The pioneer State Chairman of the Union is Comrade Morakinyo Akintayo; State Vice-Chairman, Adeyeye Seun; State Tax Force Chairman, Falajiki Kayode; State Women Leader, Comrade Abibat Ogunjobi; State Provost, Abe Gbenga; State Financial Secretary, Comrade Olusola Eunice; State Auditor, Comrade Ebenezer Dayo; State Deputy Chairman, Comrade Dada Folake.
Other State Executives include; State Assistant Secretary, Comrade Sariyu Yisa; Assistant Financial Secretary, Comrade Remilekun Olorunfemi; State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ojo Temitope; Ex-Officio 2, Comrade Rafatu Oluborede.
State Ex-Officio, Oghrikihigeria Samson; Ex-Officio, Ajimoko Damilola; Ex-Officio, Odedina Ogundele; State Deputy Secretary, Comrade Ogunremi Oluwamuyiwa; State Assistant Welfare Secretary, Comrade Ogunleye Blessing; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Comrade Oyedele Adeola; State Secretary, Comrade Ogundipe Oluwatoba; Assistant Woman Leader, Comrade Eunice Olabisi; State Welfare Secretary, Comrade Adeyeye Rafat and State Treasurer, Comrade Adesola Esther.
Also, the State NUMTEN Chairmen in the 16 Local Governments were inaugurated at the epoch making event.
Delivering her speech, the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyeagocha, represented by the State Controller of Labour, Grace Adeleye congratulated the newly elected executives and the entire leadership.
She commended the leadership of NUMTEN for its vision and foresight in creating the Union noting that it will enhance the operations of market traders across the country.
The Minister implored the new executives to see it as a call to service saying that their role is of immense importance that will shape the future of market trading in Ekiti State and localities.
The President of NUMTEN, Comrade Ogu James Chukwuma explained that constitutionally, every Nigeria Traders and Employers are eligible to be a member of the Union.
He reassured all market stakeholders in Ekiti State that the Union has come to complement their efforts at making the market arena more conducive for trading in the State.
The National President therefore charged officers of NUMTEN in the State to work in synergy to be able to achieve more and be in solidarity with one another.
On his part, the pioneer State Chairman, Comrade Akintayo expressed joy to lead the Union in the State noting that Ekiti State NUMTEN is the first State to establish NUMTEN in all the States, Local Governments and Unit levels across the country.
He revealed that the aim of the Union is to defend the integrity and independence of market traders in the country by promoting and advancing their welfare in all markets in Nigeria.
Highlights of the event is the administering of oath of office to the executives and presentation of certificates.
