Authorities of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, in Ekiti State have been advised to uphold cleanliess and proper hygiene through effective implementation of the weekly environmental sanitation.
Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Samuel Bejide gave the advice while addressing staff after the weekly sanitation.
Bejide who spoke through, the Commissioner in charge of environmental, at the Commission, Chief Cecilia Dada affirmed that proper hygiene would prevent unnecessary diseases that could affect staff and visitors of the area.
Chief Dada who joined the staff in the cleaning exercise affirmed that her action was on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission so as to show good example to staff.
She affirmed that the commission had been reliably briefed about the poor attitude of some councils and LCDAs to the sanitation exercise saying it would not be business as usual.
Responding, the Head of Local Government Administration, Iyabode Owolabi affirmed that the action of the commissioner to have joined workers for the exercise was commendable addibg that it was a morale booster for staff.
She promised the readiness of the staff to continue to keep the environment clean and cooperate with the Board executives.
