…hails Governor Biodun Oyebanji
The chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area, Engineer Toyin Ojo has affirmed that the creation of LCDAs by the immediate past administration was a great blessing to the state.
Engineer Ojo noted that with the support received from Governor Oyebanji, the LCDAs have justified their purpose of bringing government closer to people at the grassroots.
Addressing Journalists in Ado Ekiti, the chairman noted that some LCDAs were also matching the development of the parent councils using his LCDA as a reference.
According to him, the Ado Central LCDA has recorded unprecedented success and has impacted meaningfully in the lives of people.
Ojo said:”LCDA is the best thing that has ever happened to this state in recent time and the best legacy Governor Kayode Fayemi left behind.
“The creation of LCDA has brought development to the grassroots, for in stance, this place was not like this before two years ago, everything has transformed.
“Before now, there is outrage over the fact that local governments were over staffed and were not doing anything, but today, I can confirm to you that the staff are no longer enough, I am even thinking of proposing to the Governor to allow us employ few lower cadres in some departments.
Engineer Ojo noted that the creation of LCDA has also offered opportunities for a lot of people to get to the peak of their careers in the system.
Speaking on his achievements, Engineer Ojo said he had been able to use his wealth of experience and energy to introduce initiatives that had enabled the council to justify its purpose.
He said:”Aside the fact that we operate from our permanent site, there is an ongoing installation of seventy solar lights across the streets of Ado Central while several boreholes had been dug to provide water for our people.
Engineer Ojo appealed to people of the LCDA to support government by paying their dues regularly so as to enable the council generate resources needed for developmental projects.
He commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support for local government administration.
According to him Governor Oyebanji never rejected any proposal presented before him, adding that the governor had always released money for projects.
Engineer Ojo described Governor Oyebanji as a blessing to Ekiti adding that he is the best Governor Ekiti has ever produced considering his achievements within the shortest time.
