IYIN LAND MATTER: FAMILY DENIES SIGNING MOU WITH OLUYIN

The George Ojo family of Iyin Ekiti has denied signing any peace or MOU with the community over the alleged plan to take over their property.

This is contained in a clarification notice issued and made available to journalists.

I wish to state clearly and unequivocally that the George Adefemi Ojo House, my late father’s property and legacy, is NOT for sale and has not been ceded, transferred, or released to the Oluyin Palace.

During his lifetime, my father did not build his house on Palace land.

Furthermore, neither I nor any member of my family has signed any agreement transferring, relinquishing, or releasing the property to the Palace.

I am aware of rumours currently circulating that I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning the property. This is completely false. Neither I nor any member of the George-Ojo family has signed no such MOU.

Let it be clear to the general public: no individual, institution, rumour, or false claim will rewrite the history of my father’s property or undermine his legacy.

We therefore urge members of the public to disregard these unfounded claims and refrain from circulating misinformation capable of misleading the public or creating unnecessary tension.

The George Adefemi Ojo House remains a cherished part of my father’s legacy, and we will not stand by while that legacy is demolished, misrepresented, or unlawfully taken away.

Signed:
George-Ojo Ayomide
For and on behalf of the Family
