I’ve No Contact With Tinubu in 4 Years – Utomi Debunks Claims of Betraying Obi

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following the allegations that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu negotiated with Labour Party to leave the 2023 LP Presidential ticket for Peter Obi as against Atiku Abubakar Presidential bid, Pat Utomi has debunked the allegation saying that he has not met Tinubu since 4 years.

Utomi said this today via his official Twitter handle @UtomiPat.

The Labour Party governorship candidate of Oyo state in the 2023 elections, Tawfiq Akinwale made the allegation during a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, in Ibadan, the Oyo capital.

Akiwale said, Tinubu asked “Utomi to step down for Obi to become the standard bearer of the LP,” and that the “objective was to reduce the chances of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections.

In his response, Utomi said, “First, have had no direct or indirect contact with Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) in 4 years. The only material transfer from BAT to me in 25 years we have known (it) is $2000 for the MIT event

“In truth, I have been much closer to Waziri Atiku, who I first met in 1983 and wrote the feasibility for his farm a year later. I have served on the Board of his university, AUN. Only a warped or misinformed mind would invent such disinformation

“As for funding Peter Obi, I cannot but be amazed at this disinformation. The outpouring of resources of citizens in support groups and Peter Obi’s prudent draw on his own purse was so humbling I even turned to ODs to fund my own activities in support of the campaign for faith in saving Nigeria.” He said.
