Insecurity: Ekiti Market Women Go Spiritual

The Association of Market women in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State have sought the face of God over the increasing rate of criminalities in the state, especially kidnapping.

The prayer session which was organized by leadership of the Association was held at the Irepodun/Ifelodun Council Secretariat, Igede Ekiti.

During the programme, prayers were offered to God for adequate protection for Leaders both at the State and Federal levels, for the rescue of the kidnapped victims in the state and end to the activities of kidnappers as well as murderers in the state and the Nation at large.

In separate interviews, the Chairman, Association of Market women in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government, Chief (Mrs) Aduke Seriki and the Secretary, Chief (Mrs) Adunola Aladetoyinbo called on the present administration in the state under the Leadership of Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to put more efforts towards ensuring adequate security of lives and properties of the people.

They also urged security agencies in the state to be alive to their responsibility of protecting Residents of Ekiti in order for them to live in a peaceful environment.

Chief Mrs Seriki and Aladetoyinbo said the administration of Governor Oyebanji had being committed to the overall welfare of the state, through prompt payment of salaries and embarking on development projects.

They prayed God to support the Governor to continue to pay workers salaries, pensions and gratuity, as well as to embark on more infrastructural development.

The leadership of the market women also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Governors in the country to take the right decisions that would bring the required progress to Nigeria.

Chief Mrs Seriki and Aladetoyinbo applauded the Iyalojas, Iyalajes and Iyalodes for their support for the present administration in the state, calling for its sustainability.

Also addressing the Women at the prayers sections, the Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area of Ekiti State, Hon Gbenga Oluwatuyi who thanked the Women Association for their support and cooperation with the present administration both in the Local Government and the State level.

Hon Oluwatuyi assured them of his administration’s continuous assistance for the law enforcement agents in the area to ensure safety of lives and properties of its citizens.

While promising them of conducive markets environment, the Chairman called on them to pay up their Market permits and Market tolls so that Government can fulfill its set objectives.
