INFANT MORTALITY: WOMAN CRIES OUT FOR HELP AFTER LOSING THREE CHILDREN IN EKITI

In Ekiti State, a woman who resides in Irasa community, Ado Ekiti, Mariam Ibrahim has called on government to institute a panel of inquiry to investigate factors responsible for the death of her children.

The woman also sought the support of government considering her loss.

The forty year old trader confirmed to newsmen that she lost three of her children consecutively after birth despite following all medical procedures and patronizing public health facilities.

According to Ibrahim, one of the children was born dead at an undisclosed hospital in Okene, Kogi State while the two other children were delivered at public health care centers in Ado Ekiti.

She noted that two of the cases were stillbirth from cesarian sessions while the last incident was a boy who died after seven months.

Ibrahim wondered what could be responsible for such mortality, hence she called on government to unravel the mystery behind such occurrence so as to tackle the situation as part of efforts to end child mortality.

In an interviewThe Reproductive Health Care Officer with Ekiti State Ministry of Information, Mrs Abiodun Ayinde said her case may be due to reaction from an incompatible ABO.
