...as Governor Oyebanji calls for blockage of all leakages, commends management of EKIRS
Ekiti State government has rewarded the best performing Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs in Internal Revenue Generation in Ekiti State just as Governor Biodun Oyebanji called for blockade of leakages in the State Civil Service.
The rewarded MDAs are Ministry of Justices, Bureau of Lands Services, Housing Corporation, Ministry of Trade Investment and cooperative, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Directorate of Farm Settlement, Ministry of Education, Signage and Advertisement, Office of Surveyor General and that of the Accountant General.
The MDAs were honoured during a programme organised in Ado Ekiti by Ekiti State Internal Generated Revenue to review performances of Ministries, Department and Agencies of Government.
Motorcycles and other valuable items were presented to the MDAs to serve as encouragement for them to do more.
Speaking at the event, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji expressed delight at the improvement in IGR in the state and commended the EKIRS Chairman, Pastor Olatona for the various initiatives introduced towards achieving the success.
Earlier the Chairman of EKIRS, Pastor Olaniran Olatona noted that the rapid growth in the state IGR was not achieved by EKIRS alone but with the tireless efforts of MDAs in the State and urged the under performing ministries on revenue generation to work hard subsequently.
Pastor Olatona said:”Ekiti Kete, we gather not merely to celebrate excellence but to reaffirm our collective commitment to the progress and prosperity of Ekiti State. We are here to honour those who have set the benchmark through exceptional performance, while also inspiring those yet to reach their full potential to rise to even greater heights. Our goal is to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement so that, together, we can build a brighter future for Ekiti State as we plant baobab trees all over our land.
“Kindly note that the rapid growth in the IGR of the state is not the solo effort of EKIRS. Together, we have worked with many of our MDAs tirelessly to increase internally generated revenue (IGR) to fund the government’s six-pillar agenda and make Ekiti State a destination for investment, prosperity, and good living.
“We all know that “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” We are convinced each of us can be stronger if every strand comes together to form a pack of broom. Even if circumstantial providence weaves us into baskets, can we allow love to ceil all the gaps such that our collective diligent efforts would block all leakages in revenue while our buckets would fetch bigger wealth that cannot filter away.
“For those MDAs that have encountered challenges along the way, let this gathering be a call to reflection and renewal rather than reproach. Every setback is but a stepping stone, an opportunity to gain experience, grow, and rise like a fallen seed that becomes a big tree. Draw inspiration from the sterling examples set by your high-performing colleagues; let their achievements be the spark that ignites your drive for excellence.
In Separate interviews, some of the representatives of the best performing MDAs, including commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs Tayo Adeola expressed happiness over the recognition, saying such would spur them to do more.
