In a goodwill message, the community described the festival as a historic event that continues to promote peace, unity, and cultural pride in Ado-Ekiti and Ekiti State at large.

Speaking on behalf of the Idoma people, the Ochidoma of Idoma people in Ekiti State, Otache Oyigocho, said he was honoured to grace the celebration alongside other dignitaries.

He noted that his presence at the event was a demonstration of the cordial relationship and mutual respect between the Idoma community and their host communities in Ado-Ekiti.

Chief Oyigocho described Udiroko as a “unifier festival” that brings together indigenes and non-indigenes to celebrate shared values of love, togetherness, and progress.

According to him, the festival provides an opportunity for all ethnic groups residing in Ekiti to identify with the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people and to reaffirm their commitment to peaceful coexistence.

He commended the Ewi-in-Council and the festival planning committee for their meticulous arrangements, which ensured the success of the event.

The leader of Idoma people living in EKiti State added that the large turnout, cultural displays, and peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the festival were testaments to the visionary leadership of the Ewi and the unity of the people of Ado-Ekiti.

The Ochidoma also used the opportunity to appreciate the Ekiti State Government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji for creating an enabling environment where all ethnic nationalities, including the Idoma, can live, work, and celebrate together without fear or discrimination.

He said the government’s policies of inclusion have strengthened harmony among residents of the state.

In conclusion, Chief Oyigocho prayed for long life, wisdom, and good health for the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, and for continued peace and prosperity in Ekiti State.
