The lawmaker representing Ise/Orun Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Babatunde Omotayo has expressed profound joy on the appointment of the former Minister of Works and the Chairman South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman Nigeria Port Authority.
In a statement released by Hon Omotayo, he enthused that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a right choice by appointing a progressive and seasoned politician like Prince Adedayo Adeyeye to steer the affairs of the Nigeria Port Authority board, particularly at a point when the economy of the country is being confronted with challenges that requires concentrated efforts of experienced administrators well invested in the growth and development of the nation.
He further described Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as a progressive politician per excellence and a consummate leader who always tread the path of truth, justice and equity without bias and nepotism. His appointment, is a testament to his political doggedness and commitment to the renewed hope agenda of the present administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he stated.
The lawmaker who equally highlighted contributions of Senator Adedayo Adeyeye to the political development in Nigeria since the military era, reiterated that the new Board Chairman participated greatly in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria as member of Nadeco, and a one time spokesperson of pan Yoruba socio- political group, Afenifere.
Hon Omotayo attributed the landmark victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 presidential election to efforts put in place by a visionary Senator Adedayo Adeyeye through the formation of a political group called South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) when the coast was not clear for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Finally, the lawmaker expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing an Ise /Orun born lawyer and politician Senator Adedayo Adeyeye into such vantage position, he noted that the new Chairman of Nigeria Port Authority will bring forth his political wealth of experiences into the new position.
