The Directorate of Legal Affairs for the re-election campaign of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, (BAO) has announced the appointment of Hon. Barr. Babatunde Oke as Secretary of the Directorate for the upcoming governorship election.
Oke, who is the Chairman of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters, is also a distinguished legal practitioner with over 10 years of experience.
This strategic appointment underscores the commitment of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to upholding the highest standards of electoral integrity, transparency, and legal compliance in the 2027 governorship election cycle.
Hon. Oke, who represents Ikere Constituency I in the 7th Assembly and serves as the Spokesperson of the House, previously served as State Assistant Legal Adviser of the APC, Ekiti State Chapter.
He was also Secretary of the Legal Team for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji during the 2022 governorship election and served as a National Delegate to the presidential primary convention that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC candidate in the last presidential election in Nigeria.
The lawmaker, with his extensive expertise in litigation, constitutional law, and election dispute resolution, will oversee legal strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide counsel to safeguard the democratic process.
The Directorate of Legal Affairs, established to coordinate all legal aspects of the election, will play a pivotal role in pre-election preparations, voter education on legal rights, and post-election adjudication.
