As part of efforts to cushion the effects of hardship on Nigerians, the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has commenced the distribution of rice palliatives to 15,000 people in his constituency in Kaduna.
The Speaker revealed this on his X account @Speaker_Abbas, saying that it is also a celebration of his 100 days in office.
According to him, the gesture covered 13 wards of Zaria Federal Constituency, which has 584 polling units.
In his words, “At the weekend, I provided rice palliatives to 15,000 people in my constituency as part of measures to cushion the effects of the current hardship Nigerians face.
“This is the Phase 1 of the programme. The Phase 2 will come up later with another 15,000 people to benefit. In all, 30,000 beneficiaries are targeted.” He said
Also, Abbas said, “The beneficiaries cut across all political parties, including the APC, PDP, and NNPP, among others. Religious and traditional leaders as well as persons living with disabilities and NGOs are also among the beneficiaries.”
