Groups Task Nigerian Youths to be Focused, Productive

Speakers at a one-day seminar in Ibadan, Oyo State have called on youths in the country to be focused, steadfast and God fearing in the pursuit of their life ambitions.

Debating on various sub-topics under the main theme: “Those Who Wait On God”, the speakers also called on parents and guardians to serve as veritable guide to their children and wards not forgetting to put them in the ways of God.

The visioner of a Non-Governmental-Organisation, NGO, Virtuous Girl Child Foundation and organiser of the yearly event, Mrs Funmilayo Komolafe, who contributed virtually from her U.K location, recalled how she received the vision to lead campaign on Sexual Purity among teenagers in 2015 in Lokoja, Kogi State during her National Youth Service Corps.

Komolafe expressed her determination to further the cause of the Girl child through empowerment and collaboration with relevant stakeholders even in the U.K, while admonishing youths not to despair inspite of daunting challenges.

Guest Speaker of the occasion, Peter Odutoyese emphasised that Nigerian youths are assets to the nation, whom he charged to endeavour to learn new things everyday so as to leave a productive life.

He charged them to set achievable targets and dreams early in life with determination to pursue such in Godly manners.

On her part, the founder of Christ Followers Evangelical Church A.K.A New Glory, a major partner in the yearly programme, Prophetess Esther Adebayo Adonai (JP), commended and prayed for the convener and her team members while calling on Nigerian youths to turn to God.

Her words: “Each and everyone of you have innate talents to deploy to serve God and your society. Do what would make your parents and the nation to be proud of you. Your future is in your hands, do what is right now.God be with you all.”

The well-attended event was part of the 30-day Annual Conversion of Christ Followers Evangelical Church, Ilugusi, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Highpoint of the programme was the observance of a minute silence in honour of a promising servant of God Elijah Akinsola Mark, who leaved a very useful, immutable and inspiring life as a foundation member of the Church while the event witnessed other speakers such as; Mrs Dolapo Olayiwola, Mr Oluwole Sobanwo, Mr Victor Jato-Olaotu and Mrs Mercy Adeniyi.
