The Ekiti State House of Assembly has received the list of commissiner and Special Adviser nominees sent to it by Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for ratification.
Some of the nominees are Rt.Hon. Dapo Karounwi, Rt.Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Chief Folorunsho Olabode, Chief Mrs Tosin Aluko, Prof. Bolaji Aluko, Prof. Ojo Bakare, Prof. Patrick Tedela and the immediate former head of service, Mrs. Peju Babafemi.
The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye during plenary, read the names from a letter sent to the House by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, requesting the the approval of the lawmakers.
The Speaker however, committed the list to the House Committee on Rules and Business, headed by the Majority Leader, Hon. Tolu Ige.
The Commissioner nominees were requested to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae on or before 30th of June.
Meanwhile, the House in its plenary, debated the Ekiti State Sport Commission Bill, 2023.
The bill seeks to establish the commission that will handle sporting activities in the state and improve physical and mental health of the citizens
The bill was committed to the Committee on Youth andSportst Development for further legislative scrutiny.
Also, Ekiti State Electric Power Sector Bill, 2023 passed through the first reading at the plenary.
