GOVERNOR OYEBANJI DISSOLVES EKITI CABINET, RETAINS CPS, CHIEF OF STAFF

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council, retaining the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode, and the Chief of Staff, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo, in their respective positions.

The cabinet was dissolved during the valedictory exco’s meeting held in Governor’s office Ado Ekiti.

The development comes as the governor prepares for his second-term inauguration scheduled for October 16, 2026, marking a new phase in his administration.

The dissolution is expected to pave the way for the reconstitution of the State Executive Council, with attention focused on the composition of the new cabinet and the policy direction of the administration in its second term.

The retention of Mr Oyebode and Mr Adebayo is expected to ensure continuity in government communication, coordination and the implementation of the administration’s programmes during the transition.

Governor Oyebanji, who won the June 20, 2026 governorship election, is expected to begin his second term amid public expectations for improved infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, electricity supply and expanded economic opportunities across the state.
