The scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, known as petroleum which started few days ago in Ekiti State has worsen.
As at the time of this report, barely five filling stations are dispensing the product at exorbitant rates between eight hundred naira and one thousand naira per litre.
The few stations dispensing were jam-packed by consumers who are in dare need of the commodity.
Many commuters were seen stranded on the road due to lack of commercial vehicles to convey them to their locations.
Many private car owners were also seen struggling to get commercial vehicles due to lack of fuel to operate their vehicles.
Commercial vehicles and motorcyclists have taken undue advantage of the situation to extort members of the public.
Those who spoke with Roundoffnews lamented the situation and blamed government for inability to address the situation that had persisted once last week.
