Flooding: Emure Ekiti Residents Plead for Governor Oyebanji’s Intervention

Residents of Emure Ekiti along old Ise Road, APata Osotun Ewenla Estate have called on Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the Council Chairman and other concerned agencies to come to their aid to solve the yearly flooding problem affecting them due to lack of drainages

The residents who made the call while speaking with Progress FM reporter in Emure Ekiti explained the the flood hit several homes, rendered many homeless while property worth millions of naira were lost during the ugly incident.

One of the residents, Chief Ayodele Famojuro known as Awela noted that the affected people lost their homes, belongings, and their means of livelihood, saying there is need to dredge the river around the area.

Chief Famojuro said that there is need for State Emergency Management Agency to visit the community in order to find lasting solutions to the flooding that normally affect residents of Emure Ekiti and provide relief materials, shelter, and support to help them rebuild their lives.

The Community leader noted that the Governor’s intervention would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the flood victims and restoring normalcy to the community.
