FLOODING: ADEYANJU CAUTIONS RESIDENTS AGAINST BUILDING ON WATER WAYS IN EKITI

…advices government to engage more professionals in construction works

A town planner, Mr Bunmi Adeyanju has called for proper implementation of the law that will check people from building structures on water ways and other unauthorized places in Ekiti State.

He made the call while speaking with our reporter on telephone on danger of constructing houses on water ways.

According to him, building on water ways is a major factor responsible for flood witnessed in recent time.

The professional town planer also appealed to house owner to construct drainages in the front of their buildings to give room for free flow of water and prevent erosion.

Mr Adeyanju therefore urged the state government to employ more professional town planners to give useful advice to the state government on demographic and construction works.
