FG PICKS EKITI ASSEMBLY AS BEST IN ICT INTEGRATION

…Our digital revolution is justified, says Aribasoye

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has been selected to be awarded as the Best State House of Assembly in ICT Integration.

This followed an online voting process and nationwide nomination conducted across various media platforms for the Nigeria Govtech Public Service Award 2024.

The Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye announced this in his closing remarks on Friday after wrapping up days of account of stewardship rendered by local councils across the state.

Aribasoye noted that the development further affirmed the digital revolution drive and open door policy of the 7th assembly under his leadership.

‘I am proud to announce that the Ekiti State House of Assembly has been nominated and selected as the best House of Assembly in ICT integration in Nigeria by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to utilizing technology in our legislative processes and promoting transparency in our operations.’ The Speaker noted.

Lawmakers also lauded the cheering news noting that it has underlined the value in the time and resources the house had invested in its digital revolution which is the route to global relevance in the present age.

The award tagged the Distinguished Govtech Trailblazers Award was put in place by the Federal Government under Bureau of Public Service Reforms in the Presidency.

As stated in a release signed by the Director General of the Bureau, D.I. Arabi , the award dinner will take place on October the 11th at Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly had in March launched its live streaming platform across several social media outlets to make itself accessible to the entire world.

Analysts have described the move as one that reflects willful accountability and readiness for constructive criticism by a legislature that believes it knows its onions.

Also, the house has transposed from voice voting to the use of digital pads at plenaries.

In furtherance of the pace setting digital agenda, the Ekiti assembly would equally be unveiling in October its new comprehensive website and an online TV for legislative news reports and special interviews, all first of its kind across the country.
