FG Begins Sale of 50KG Rice At N40,000 in Ekiti

The federal government has began the sale of milled rice to Civil Servants in Ekiti State at a subsidized rate of N40,000 per 50 kilogram bag.

The exercise is part of intervention efforts by the federal government to cushion the economic challenges in the country aimed at alleviating the living conditions of Nigerians.

Our correspondent, who visited the distribution centre in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Monday, gathered that civil servants troupe out in their numbers to benefit from the intervention program.

It was equally gathered that potential buyers are expected to present their National Identification Number, NIN, as a requisite document before purchasing the subsidized rice.

In an interview, some of the beneficiaries bemoaned the slow pace of the process while calling for speedy conclusion of the exercise.

According to them, the process is carried out accordingly by each ministry, alongside the NIN before payment can be done.
