It is often said that one good turn deserves another.
This is the picture obtainable on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti as some staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti employed within the last ten years celebrated a former Rector of the Institution, Dr. Theresa Akande under whom they got employed.
At the ceremony, various speakers showered encomium on Dr. Akande who is the fifth substantive Rector of the institution.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof Olawumi Ajaja, the fourth substantive Rector of the institution urged staff to establish definate and achievable goals for themselves and always be on the side of truth.
Prof Ajaja urged all to be positive at all times and strive to make the Polytechnic the number one in the country and in the world at large.
Dr Akande on the occasion implored the trailblazers to always recognize the God factor in the opportunity given to them to serve humanity through their employment at the institution.
She also called on them ask some soul searching questions such as “what will I want to do with the opportunity of having to work in the institution in the next five, ten years to contribute my own positive quota? How can I become a good ambassador of the Polytechnic as a way of showing gratitude to the Lord who granted me this wonderful opportunity?
Dr Akande further called on all to make use of all available opportunities to develop and make solid plans for the future , shun all anti social vices and prayed that the Almighty will continue to be with all as they successfully climb up the ladder of progression in their line of work.
Also speaking at the event, Mr O B Akinleye, a retired staff of the Polytechnic advised the trailblazers to continue to strive for all that is good and have at the back of their mind that the sky is their starting point.
The Bursar of the institution, Mr John Kehinde Omodara described the trailblazers as a set that is committed and dedicated to duty noting that they are diligent and hardworking.
Highlights of the occasion witnessed the presentation of gifts to Dr Akande, the family of the late Registrar Mrs Odusade Adediran and the former polytechnic Bursar Mr Elijah Onaolapo.
