slams opposition for trying to discredit the former governor.
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Mr Olu Okeya has slammed some opposition over what he described as unfounded report suggesting that former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi is lobbying for ministerial appointment ahead of the swearing-in of President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
It was reported on various social media platforms by peddlers of fake news that the immediate past governor of Ekiti State has drafted an APC chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande to prevail on the President-Elect in his favour.
Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, Mr Okeya described the purveyor of such fake news as busy body and enemy of progress adding that Dr. Fayemi is very close to the President-Elect and do not need an intermediary to get any favour.
The APC Chieftain explained that Dr Fayemi did not need to lobby anybody for appointment, saying his antecedent and integrity will earn him the recognition.
Mr Okeya noted that the immediate past Ekiti State governor had proved himself during his tenure as two-time governor and minister, urging those spreading the fake news about him to desist.
He called those spreading such fake news to face their business and stop instigating hate against a person that God has blessed.
