Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan, Founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation ODF joined the world to celebrate the strong and fierce spirit of women, as the world celebrated International Women’s Day Friday, March 8, 2024.
In a felicitation post signed by the Chairman, he called for a collective celebration of women regardless of cultural or ethnic divide and encouraged them to overcome all obstacles in all areas of life.
Falegan added that, despite the unforseen circumstances that surrounded the postponement of this year celebration she has to send her good will message to all the good women for contributing to the growth of the society.
In his congratulatory message, he said, “It’s year 2024 International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrate the global “social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women”. This year’s campaign which symbolizes the need to break the bias.
It’s important to spotlights the individual and
collective biases against women that fuel gender inequality. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field. So, are you in? Will you actively call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time you see it? Let’s join hands together to celebrate our Women, whether professionally or personally, Women from all walks of life regardless of their battle for peace, justice, equality, and progress. And encourage them to overcome all obstacles in all areas of life in order to achieve significant progress.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to always assist and support the women folks in the society adding that, he being called oko opo’ is as a result of his contributions positively to women lives.
