Newly admitted Students of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti popular known as freshers have been advised to explore opportunities in journalism; that
Mass Communication provides endless and limitless opportunities for media practitioners.
This was disclosed today by Mr Kola Ajumobi the guest speaker at the orientation programme for the freshers held at the Institution.
Mr Ajumobi who spoke on “career opportunities in mass communication” noted that there are about 740 broadcasts and 50 newspaper houses in Nigeria which can accommodate the growing army of professional Mass Communicators in training.
He advised students to specialise in one of the four areas in Mass communication namely: broadcasting, journalism, advertising and public relations.
Other speakers at the event include Mr Moruf Abdulrazaq of the Department of Liberal Studies who spoke on “Leadership Development” and Mr Chris Nwiphuru of the Department of Mass Communication who addressed the freshers on Code of Conduct in the Polytechnic.
