Exclusive: Corps Members lament cost of living In Ekiti

Corps members posted to Ekiti State have expressed concern over the high cost of living in the State.

Speaking with Roundoffnews Correspondent Grace Ihie at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, most of the corp members lamented that the development had made life difficult for them.

One of the respondents, Faith John appealed to various organizations employing corps members to provide accomodations to Corp Members that posted to their organizations.

According to her, corps members spend all their money on transportation and feeding saying a drop in Ado Ekiti is two hundred Naira.

She said:”Please follow the NYSC regations by providing accommodation for corps members to ease their expenses.

Moreover, some of our (PPA ) letters indicated that accommodation should be provided, alongside little token.

Meanwhile, Eunice Emmanuel and Elizabeth Oga added that the issue of accomodation is becoming unbearable as a single average room in Ekiti goes for almost one hundred thousand Naira while a room self contained begin from one hundred and fifty thousand naira.

They pleaded with the NYSC management to look into the issue as it is becoming alarming.
