It was an atmosphere of glitz and glamour as another edition of BAO Street Connect lit up Emure local government on Saturday to sensitize residents on the activities of the Ekiti State Government.
The event organised by the Office of Community Communications, Governor’s Office, featured exciting programmes including awareness on the activities of the state government, interactive sessions, games, donation of free food pack, cultural display, among others.
The Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho said the programme is another way of measuring the performance of the present administration in the State.
According to her, the government will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the masses, especially those at the grassroots and getting feedback on areas they need intervention.
“The purpose of the programme is to ensure that the people at the grassroots are well aware of what Governor Biodun Oyebanji is doing. We also take feedback from them spontaneously. We also bring government information and activities to them.
“This BAO Street Connect is another way of measuring our performances and measure the acceptability Governor Oyebanji at the grassroots. We can see the reception, joy and enthusiasm that they showed.
“We are happy and it shows that the governor is doing well even though we still need to do more. From all the information that we gave out, we asked them for their opinion. We also know the true feeling of people towards Governor Oyebanji administration.”
The Emure local government Chairman, Adedayo Oluwatosin hailed the DG for deeming it necessary to organise the event aimed at sensitizing residents of the LGA.
He seized the opportunity to appeal to residents in his LGA to support the second term of Governor Oyebanji to continue his good works in the State.
“This programme is what we have been expecting for long. For the fact that the programme was brought to Emure today, we really appreciate the state government.
“The programme has helped to sensitize the community on the activities of Governor Biodun Oyebanji. It was an opportunity for them to hear from the horses mouth.
“I am using this opportunity to appeal to them to support Governor Oyebanji for a second tenure so that this good job will continue. We need the continuity in Ekiti State so that we can benefit from the good governance in the local government.”
Recall that BAO Street Connect that was flagged-off in the State capital, Ado-Ekiti, has also held in other LGAs including, Ise-Ekiti, and Ikere-Ekiti, etc.
