The agony of residents of Ilotin in Ikole Local Government over the lack of potable water has become a thing of the past as the candidate of Social Democracratic Party seeking to represent people of Ekiti North Federal constituency one at the House of representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola rehabilitated the borehole serving the community.
Our correspondent who visited the town reports that residents both young and old were full of joy while rushing out to fetch water from the newly rehabilitated borehole.
Speaking with our correspondent, some of the beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings appreciated Hon. Bimbo Daramola for solving the over five years water scarcity they have been experiencing.
Two of them, Mrs. Victoria Babalola and Yemisi Omotoso explained that some of the boreholes in the community were constructed by Hon. Bimbo Daramola when he was a member of the house of representatives, saying the one in question got spoiled and nobody was able to repair it, until he came to their aid again.
The beneficiaries noted that residents of the community needed to work hard to ensure that SDP candidate emerge during the next month’s poll in view of his interest for welfare of the people.
Reacting, the Olotin Oba of Ikole Ekiti who is the second in command to Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Oluwatayo Okunola described the development as a great thing, saying Hon Bimbo Daramola had been coming to their aid even while he was not in office.

On her own, the coordinator of Daramola Bimbo support Organisation DABSO in Ikole and Oye local government, Mrs Toyin Omoboya urged residents of Ekiti North Federal constituency One to vote for Daramola during the next month’s election in order for them to enjoy more dividend of democracy as he did during his first time as a member of the green chamber.
Reacting, Hon. Bimbo Daramola explained that over seven years ago, between 2011-2015, as the representative of the people in Ekiti North Federal constituency one he facilitated hundreds of Boreholes, Transformers and Solar Powered Street lights to enhance the quality of life of the constituents.
According to SDP candidate for Ekiti North Federal constituency one, those infrastructure have been badly run down and in different states of disrepair. With this reality, our people have had to live with immense discomfort that we sought to ameliorate.
“To this end, in tandem with the “BRING GOOD TIME BACK MANTRA”, the brand has committed to embark on what we tagged operation rehabilitate, renovate and restore all these infrastructure that have become worn out”
