Excitement as NGO Distributes Cloths, Wearables to Ekiti Residents

…Calls For Stakeholders’ Support

It was an atmosphere of joy in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital, as Women and Children Development and Health Research Initiative (WCDHRI) – Debby’s Place gave out cloths and other wearable to selected persons in the state.

The event which is the maiden edition took place  at WCDHRI office, Ado-Ekiti.

Addressing Journalists, the Executive Director of the Initiative, Dr (Mrs) Ade-Ojo revealed that, the give -away programme which is the first of it kind since the inception of the Initiative is a bridge between the have and the needy.

According to her, the programme is an initiative of the NGO aimed at alleviating the suffering of women, orphans and vulnerable children in the society by distributing cloths and other wearables to them.

She also called for the support of stakeholders and individuals to sustain the kind gesture.

In her words, “to sustain this kind gesture, the Centre needs stakeholders, personnel, facilities and funding”.

Also at the event is the President Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ado Ekiti, Rev. Father Joseph Abegunde, who encouraged participants to be generous, asserting that, generosity can be portrayed even in lack.

Speaking with one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Bola Ikusagba, she said that the programme has impacted her even as a first timer, stating that she was given wears of different kinds.

Another beneficiary Mrs Deborah Ogunsakin, commended Debby’s Place for hospitality shown to beneficiaries, adding that it is the first of it kind she has experienced.
