…Oluyin, traders, Stakeholders commend leadership of LCDA
Araromi Local Council Development Area, in Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government of Ekiti State has begun the building of forty open stores at Oja Oba market in Iyin Ekiti.
The stores are in addition to the twenty lock up shops under construction which has reached lintel level.
At the turning of the sod for the new stores, market women, community leaders and relevant stakeholders couldn’t hide their joy on the positive development that the LCDA has brought since it’s creation.
Addressing Journalists at the site, the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Adeniyi Ajakaye commended the leadership of the LCDA for coming up with such great initiative which he said would boost business activities and in turn generate income for the council.
The monarch affirmed that the purpose for the creation of LCDAs was gradually coming to fruition.
He said:”Democracy is bringing government to the people and that is why we have local government and LCDAs, with LCDAs, you are closer to the people, you will be able to identify their challenges.
In his remark, the Chairman, Araromi LCDA, Chief Olorunfemi Alade said the project which would be completed soon was aimed at providing a conducive trading environment for traders.
Chief Alade appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving the project and providing financial support.
Alade said:”We want our people to be secure, our traders are there on the road trading on the roadside and such is not good for them.
He confirmed that his government had installed solar power across the communities that make up the LCDA, donation of chairs to palaces among others.
The Chairman added that plans were under way to lay foundation for the new secretariat of the LCDA and block of shops at Esure.
Also, the Vice Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Odunayo Ogundowole restated the commitment of the leadership of the council to embark on more projects that would have positive impact on citizens.
